DAY 3

After meeting our group at 6:30AM sharp, we boarded our tour buses and headed to the White Cliffs of Dover to board our ferry that would take us across the English Channel. We did have to go through customs, where we all added another stamp to our passport. They went through the luggage under the bus and pulled 5 random suitcases to be checked, and with our luck both Matt and I were asked to have our bags scanned. Traveling across the channel was quite an experience. Inside the ship there were shops, bars, and lounge areas where Matt enjoyed a beer. With the ship rocking side to side, it put Audrey right to sleep! Once across, we headed back to the coach to finish our trip to Paris. After arriving at the Etap hotel in Paris around 6pm, we rendezvoused with our group around 7:45pm to head to the Eiffel Tower. Along the way, we went past the Arc de Triomphe and drove down the beautifully decorated Champs Elysees. In the hour we spent at the Eiffel Tower, we rode up to the 2nd floor to take pictures of the breathtaking view, then came back down to enjoy a delicious chocolate and banana crépe :) We are currently finishing our night with a bottle of champagne. Tomorrow will be mostly free time, during which we hope to see as much of Paris as possible! Au revoir!

DAY 1-2

We had a successful trip to London! Although the plane ride was smooth, neither Matt nor I were able to get more than an hour or so of sleep. Maybe we were just so excited to arrive in the UK :) Once we landed, we got our bags and made our way to the 'tube' (the underground transportation system here in London). It took about an hour to get from the Heathrow airport to our hotel, but once we got off the tube it was pretty easy to find the Imperial Hotel on Russel Square. We treated ourselves to a pint-sized Strongbow glass of beer, followed by a much needed nap before meeting up with our tour group. Our tour guide, Dan, seems very friendly, and our group of 25 or so seems very fun as everyone is around our age. Afterwards, we headed to a local bar called The Marquis Cornwallice where we continued to immerse ourselves in the culture. We shared Fish & Chips for dinner before heading back to our hotel. Our level of emotion continues to rise as we anticipate our early departure from London to Paris at 6:30AM tomorrow morning.
